TUESDAY TIME MACHINE: Turn back the clock 25 years with OldEvansvilleAds

UPDATE, 7:40 p.m.:  For some reason I didn't realize it before, but I've been told this evening that the voiceover for the WEHT promo and newscast open which you can find below (as well as an additional one here) was handled by none other than the late, great Joe Lowe.  If you listen closely, you'll have no trouble placing the voice that so many of us still miss so very, very much.

I don't know who's responsible for OldEvansvilleAds on YouTube, but he or she has certainly stumbled onto a gold mine of some of classic Tri-State TV commercials from 1988.

And not only are there commercials dating back 25 years, you'll also find a some classic WEHT "NewsFirst 25" goodies, as well:  A weather forecast from Mike Maguire, an I-Team promo (featuring Shannon Hurd and Brad Byrd) and even the open to a 6 p.m. newscast.

Here's one of the classics for you ... say, wouldn't it be nice to get a well-equipped Chevy today for under $10,500???  A quarter-century ago, you could at Don Moore Chevrolet-Cadillac in downtown Owensboro ...
