BRIEF: FOX gives early renewals to four shows

FOX is doing some early renewing.

The network announced on Monday that it's given second-season pickups to The Following and The Mindy Project. Also getting another go-around are New Girl and Raising Hope.

Bones was previously renewed.

Regular readers know I'm no fan of The Following (which I found too violent) or The Mindy Project (which is too stupid for TV). In this writer's opinion, the others are fine, and merit another season.
