Shots fired at WTWO/WAWV studios early Saturday morning

UPDATE, 4:50 p.m.:  A Farmersburg, Ind. man has been arrested in connection with the shooting at WTWO/WAWV.   Kenneth Trey Bolinger, 24, a former employee of the stations, was taken into custody and has been charged with criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, a felony. Bolinger is currently in the Sullivan County Jail, with bond set at $39,000.

Nexstar Broadcasting's Terre Haute-area television stations were the target of gunfire during the pre-dawn hours on Saturday morning.

The Indiana State Police reported Saturday that employees of WTWO-NBC 2 and WAWV ABC heard gunshots outside the stations' Farmersburg, Ind. studio at around 4 a.m. ET, and when the sun came up, the full measure of the damage was revealed.

"Multiple rounds had been fired through the main entrance front door glass, multiple rounds were fired into one company vehicle on the north side of the building and multiple rounds were fired into one privately owned vehicle on the west side of the building," said Indiana State Police Sgt. Joe Watts in a statement.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and ISP reports that an investigation is underway.  Anyone who may have information on the shooting is asked to call ISP's Putnamville post at (765) 653-4114.
