14 NEWS sports anchor Mark Lericos has left WFIE, the station's news director, Scott Galloway, confirmed this afternoon.
Lericos, who joined the 14 NEWS team in June 2011 after spending six years at KHBS/KHOG in Northwest Arkansas, has moved to Florida to be closer to his children.
"We'll certainly miss him," Galloway said.
Lericos' departure leaves Bo McFall as WFIE's only full-time sports anchor, so Galloway said this afternoon that he former NEWS 25 sports reporter Aaron Hancock has been brought in on a freelance basis to help cover sports at the station.
I'm told that WFIE has begun the process of searching for Lericos' permanent replacement.

WFIE should never have let Goodman go. At least he wasn't going to take his talent to South Beach.
I second that. He was a class act, and exactly the kind of personality who makes me seek out TV news. Not many reasons to do that anymore.
I'd like to see Goodman come back. I really enjoyed his work, too. I think McFall has what it takes to have the top job at 14 though. I've met him before, and he truly seems to be passionate about sports.
